Color Ribbons

Using genuine ribbons, SMART printers produce industry-leading image quality cards. Colour images are made up of three primary colours (yellow, magenta, and cyan) that can produce up to 16.7 million colours.

FINE™ imaging technology makes it possible to optimise these colours to meet the most stringent corporate identity colour requirements. Most ribbons also offer a black resin panel (K) as well as a durable lacquer panel (O).

Panel K is used for text or barcodes and Panel O covers the entire card to protect it from colour migration, fading and scratches. To further increase the durability of your cards, we recommend laminating them with SMART50L, 51L or 70L laminating printers.

Using only genuine ribbons is vital to the quality of your printed cards and the longevity of your printer.

Mono Ribbons

We offer monochrome ribbons in a variety of colours for many applications such as Loyalty cards, warranty cards, and membership certificates that require a single colour to personalise a pre-printed card. This is a very economical way to personalise cards on-demand.

SMART printers offer a ribbon saver mode, or “partial print” mode, which when turned on, requires the printer to use only the amount of ink needed to print the data on the card. In some cases, these features can nearly double the number of cards printed from a single ink roll.

Using only genuine monochrome ribbons is vital to the quality of your printed cards and the longevity of your printer.
